It was William J. Toms who said, “be careful how you live your life, you may be the only Bible someone ever read” for us as believers this admonitioning should not be taken lightly at all. The world has great expectations of us. The Scripture says we are the light of the world, so we are expected to give the world light in everything we do. If I ask you, in which ways we can shine our light, among the many things you will say, clothing wouldn’t be the first, but it will certainly be in the list. If we are to be the only Bible someone will ever read, then certainly our dressing must be part of the verses. The challenge with dressing appropriately as a believer has great misconceptions about it. Some people think, it means to dress as an angel in overflowing garments but without the wings at the back. Well, that wouldn’t be bad for starters, but certainly dressing to church or Christian events need not be boring. Our God is a creative God, just look around you and perceive the great imagination and detail with which He made our beautiful world, why would you think such a creative God will limit us when it comes to our Christian ways of dressing.? Would you like to listen to a boring preaching? I guess no. If we are going to Preach with our way of dressing and influence the world to dress the right way, then we must make our dressing sermons interesting.
