Founded and strongly grounded on the central tenets of family, Winners Chapel Ghana has now been in existence for a decade. The ministry which many thought would not survive and thus abandoned, stands strong relying on the scriptures found in Acts 5:38-39:
‘And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing; but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it--lest you even be found to fight against God.’
As it forges into the future with its vision of sending ‘the Word to the world’, the ministry does not lose sight and thus continues with its equally central drive to establish a unified denomination and family thereof. The ministry also maintains a strong culture of pastoral membership contact.
But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
Here is the story of a man who was dying to be killed for the cause of Christ. Anthony who is today known as St. Anthony of Padua heard the report of how some priestly brethren were martyred in Morocco and desired to imitate them. He was sent on an evangelism mission to Morocco but never arrived there because he was too sick to complete the journey. On the journey home, his ship was blown by a violent storm to the shores of Sicily from where he journey to Assisi, met Francis who later became his mentor. As provident will have it, in 1222 he attended an ordination service where the preacher didn't show up. Anthony was asked to preach. Slow and unassured at first, by the time he was done the crowd was moved by his brilliance. For the next few years, Anthony was on the road preaching sometimes attracting crowds of up to 30,000. He often attacked the oppression of the poor by the rich in his messages. Dear today's Christian, what are you dying to do for Christ.
Lord kindle a desire for Your word in me in Jesus' name.
